The use of stencils in art has been around for many years. Use this technique to create an amazing artwork with your hand and watercolour! "Aboriginal Rock Art"
What You Will Need:
Splash mats
Apron
Spray bottle
Water
Sheets of cover paper
Scissors (adult supervision recommended)
Extra sheets of paper
Let's get Started:
STEP 1
Prepare your work area before you begin. Lay down splash mats and put on an apron.
STEP 2
Prepare your spray bottle with 5 Star Ezy Dye or 5 Star Water-soluble Dye (make this up with water). Dilute with water if required.
STEP 3
Place your hand on a sheet of cover paper and trace around it. Cut out the shape to create your stencil. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
STEP 4
Lay your stencil on another sheet of paper. Gently spray the watercolour paint around the stencil before carefully lifting the stencil.
STEP 5
Repeat this process to create layers in your artwork—experiment with colour and overlapping prints. Allow to dry and your Hand Stencil Artwork is ready to display!
