You Will Need:
White Cardboard (for cone shape)
Polystyrene Cone (for a sturdier tree option)
Hot Glue Gun (optional, adult supervision required)
Toilet roll cardboard
Christmas Wrapping Paper
Scissors
Scrap Paper (for covering the work area)
Coloured Card or Marker (for tree topper star)
Let’s Create!
Version 1: Cardboard Cone
Cover your workspace with scrap paper.
Cut a half-circle out of the white cardboard. A guide size is 150mm from the flat edge to the tip.
Roll the half-circle into a cone shape, secure it with PVA glue, and let it dry (use a peg if needed).
Glue pom poms all over the cone, creating a colourful pattern.
Cut a star from leftover cardboard, decorate it, and glue it to the top of the tree.
Version 2: Polystyrene Cone
Cover your workspace.
Use the hot glue gun (supervision required) to stick pom poms all over the polystyrene cone until it’s fully covered.
Cut a star from leftover cardboard, decorate it, and glue it to the top.
Cut the toilet roll to the height you like, cover it with wrapping paper, and glue it as a tree base.
This pom pom Christmas tree is a simple, creative project that children will be proud of! Making their own decorations helps build hand-eye coordination, explore colour combinations, and embrace the joy of crafting.
